Apex Machine Tool Company continues to stay on the cutting edge of technology with the purchase of an additional Charmilles 2030SI EDM, a Charmilles Robofil 230 EDM and a Charmilles HD20 EDM Drilling Machine. This now makes a total of eight wire machines.

The Robofil 2030SI is one of the fastest working wire EDM's available. The outstanding adaptive control prevents wire breakage in difficult flushing conditions. The auto restart and extended filtration system provide unattended operation around the clock.

Robofil 2030SI is a High Volume, Fast Turnaround machine which has a numerical control which is easy to use, unequalled in surface integrity, unsurpassed accuracy, and operates with workpiece submerged. It allows up to 30 degree taper for a 2.6" tall part. Built into the control PILOT EXPERT,a powerful protection strategies which will automatically optimizes speed, flushing and spark intensity in order to prevent wire breakage automatically.

Finally, a standard Charmilles wire EDM feature (Profile Expert) will automatically adjust flushing pressure, wire tension, and frequency to eliminate wire drag in sharp corners. The answer was a plus for Apex, a comprehensive system like Unigraphics, gave us the ability to design, draft and machine an entire project in one system allows Apex Machine Tool Co. to participate in Concurrent Manufacturing Processes. This reduces time to market for the Aero Composites Propeller for Aero Composites Inc. and allowed us to help our customer deliveries. Each individual module of UG is on its own a more than capable system capable of going head to head against any of the major software out there today.
